The company will expand its capabilities with the installation of a high speed rotary tablet press from Kikusi, an Aquarius G-J. The press can be tooled for each batch to exact specifications, enabling Biovation Labs, a contract manufacturer, to produce several million tablets each day.

Aquarius G-J can produce both regular tablets, as well as tablet-in-tablet products. Its imprinting capabilities also allows for each tablet to be branded with names, logos, images, embossing, and raised letters. The company stated that the equipment can change capabilities ‘on the fly’, adjusting to handle any batch of tablets.

A spokesperson from Biovation told us that this equipment adds additional flexibility and, through the investment, “clients are better served with the ability to produce almost any size and shape of tablet that is available on the market.”

The company is also adding new coating pans, equipment, and new personnel as part of its expansion.

“This investment enables the company to enhance how it serves its clients while maintaining the highest standards of quality,” the spokesperson added.

Financial details of the investment have not been disclosed.
