There is something that we see after every single disaster. When American faces a massive hurricane or disaster we see that community members come together to help at. Its one of the most inspiring things that you can witness. This is particularly true at a time like this. It would seem we have a million reasons to be divided and disaster is the one thing that brings us together.

Imagine what could happen with an intentional community that was ready for these storms. Imagine what could be done if there were thousands of these communities that were prepared. That is possible but it comes at a price. it takes work. However, if we are to survive any kind of uptick in disasters in our world we are going to need each other.

In the early days of the prepper movement a lot of value was put into creating a serious prepper group in your local area. it was the idea of combining some valuable post collapse skill sets through a bunch of individuals like doctors, soldiers, tradesman and the like. If that doesn’t sound like your thing you could always take smaller steps that push your community towards self sufficiency. These efforts will include things like creating a community garden, opening up communications lines and introducing an active neighborhood watch.

While it might not sound like much these three will lay a great base on which to build for the future. Most importantly you will have people who are going to commit to the betterment of the community and they will be talking instead of avoiding one another.
