Water is one of the most important prepping resources that you can concern yourself with. In fact, it’s probably the most important. We dont understand that because it’s always there. It’s like taking air away. If we lost air we would be in big trouble fast. Just like water.

Maintaining A Steady Supply of Water - life saver

There are many ways to keep a steady flow of water and they all take some planning and preparation. However, once you establish them, it’s hard to ever truly run out.

Let’s look at some of the best methods for keeping a steady flow of water.

Water Catchment

Unlike food and ammo, water falls from the sky. It just falls right out of the sky and then we can catch it in cisterns, rain barrels or whatever else we put together.

Setting up some sort of rain catchment system is absolutely crucial to having success with a steady flow of water. Once you get a few rain barrels working for you, you almost always have water and you also have the potential of holding onto more water when the rain comes back.

Water Storage

People usually think that water storage is a quick answer to water preparation. It can fill some holes but it’s very hard to store all of the water you will need in a crisis. Water is heavy and takes up a lot of room in a home.

Make this part of your process but not the only part.

Water Sourcing

Finally, look for an area where water is present. Running water is the best. A river or stream that is close by will do you best. Just remember, you have to return with your sourced water. That can be a struggle.

If you are going to source water you have to use filters for chemicals, virus and pathogens. These are very important. Stock up on a good system.
